Why off-lease ThinkPads

ThinkPad T-series machines are specified for corporate fleets - spill-resistant keyboards, magnesium roll cages, documented service manuals and standard replaceable parts. They come off lease in volume after three years, which is why a well-specified business laptop costs a fraction of its original price while still having years of service left.

Windows 11 and CPU generation

Same rule as the desktops: Microsoft's supported-processor list starts at 8th generation Intel. Anything older can run Linux happily, or Windows 10 on borrowed time, but will not take Windows 11 through the supported path.
